ENVIRONMENT PILLAR
BEACH CLEANING OPERATION
IN. Chennai– december
The Plastic Odyssey ship reached Chennai, India, on March 1, 2025. A great opportunity for our local team to discover the project behind this expedition, during several key events.
The opening event was held at the Alliance Française de Madras, marking the start of the stopover program. Our team had the chance to meet the Plastic Odyssey team, explore the ship’s innovative recycling technologies and learn more about their global mission against plastic pollution.
On March 6, the DELFINGEN Foundation organized a visit to the Plastic Odyssey ship for its customers and co-workers. It was an opportunity to learn more about sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics, and to see first-hand how non-recyclable plastics are transformed into useful objects.
On March 8, Plastic Odyssey and the DELFINGEN Foundation organized a beach clean-up operation at Kovalam Beach near Chennai. Thanks to the mobilization of 55 volunteers and in partnership with Khabadiwala Connect, 386 kg of waste were collected, including 169 kg of recyclables and 217 kg of non-recyclables.
Many thanks to the Plastic Odyssey teams and our co-workers for their commitment!
